Loeys-Dietz Syndrome Multidomain Health Study – Dr. Julie Richer

People living with LDS often experience symptoms that extend beyond the heart and blood vessels, including pain, fatigue, sleep disturbances, headaches or migraines, anxiety, and challenges with exercise. Although these symptoms can significantly affect day-to-day life, little research has explored their prevalence, severity, and how they are interconnected. This study, led from the CHEO Research Institute and supported by LDSF Canada, aims to better understand these experiences through a series of short online surveys completed by adults with LDS.

By examining multiple domains together, this study will help identify patterns that may inform future clinical care, patient education, and supportive interventions. The findings will provide valuable insights into the lived experiences of people with LDS and help guide future research priorities identified by the community.

As a patient-driven organization, LDSF Canada has played a key role in supporting the development of this study through funding and ongoing collaboration with the CHEO Research Institute. The Foundation has helped ensure that the research addresses the priorities and concerns most important to the LDS community, while supporting knowledge translation and dissemination of the findings back to patients and families.
